Peter (Enslaved Man)

This was Will Smith’s best character work. I generally find films set in the times of slavery to be distasteful. This film was inspiring. As a descendant, it’s hard not to see myself in the depiction of my ancestors. This is 1863. 160 years ago. A few generations removed but in the grand scheme, this was yesterday. We were enslaved people yesterday. Antoine Fuqua is a great director. I wish more people understood the impact of the Haitian revolution on slavery in America.

Nick Canon’s career is dope.

I found this interview inspiring. In the past it was easy for me to write off Nick’s accomplishments because I didn’t personally enjoy the deliverables but I wasn’t the target audience. The movies, music, merch and television offerings worked for who it worked for, extremely well. He built a career leaning into things that were natural for him to do. That’s admirable. It’s also crazy to think that his vision became a gate for a lot of other, now prominent, figures to enter the industry through. I’m not going to watch any of his movies lol BUT I can gladly celebrate his career and achievements.

Teenage Engineering K.O. II EP-133

I can appreciate Teenage Engineering’s approach to their products. They have a signature way of approaching each delivery. I admire that and would like to identify ways to develop my own signature aesthetic.

This is a sampler. I didn’t need another but this one looked appealing and I wanted to try it. I knew it would sell out so I wanted to try it while I could get it.

So far, so good. It’s fun to use. That means a lot. It takes time to develop a good workflow so it’ll be a year before I know.
