The XXXIV Collection DOCU-SERIES
Initially this started out as a full length documentary but while we were editing we realized that it would be better absorbed in smaller pieces. So instead of a 90min long vid, we broke it down to 34 separate episodes. Each episode speaks to different idea visited in the “The XXXIV Collection Book”. They represent different reactions, thoughts, emotions, wins and losses as experienced by Bizzy Amor. The collection itself is meant to represent a celebration; not just of his birthday (of which the “XXXIV” is meant to represent) but of the blessings in having lived to endure lessons that come with truly experiencing life. Our goal is not provide any explanations but instead to share the perspective this particular Black man.
EPISODe VII: My #1 RULE (Nobody cares)
We all do "stuff". I learned early that expecting people to care is a losing battle. People have their own priorities and you can't expect them to care about something just because it exists. We can't always recognize or appreciate the effort that goes into something and that often robs us of power and focus. The reality is that if our motivation for doing what we do is rooted in people's reaction to it then we won't be creating from an authentic place. Yes, it's amazing to get applause but it's important to keep performing even they never come. If it's important to You and brings you joy then just do it.
episode vi: one job
The ultimate cheat code to me has been to always treat everything like the same thing. Essentially I've only mastered one thing (which I'm not certain I know what that "one" thing is) and I've taken that logic and applied it across the board. It allows me to feel comfortable stepping into foreign territory and moving comfortably. My approach doesn't change with the medium. I make the mediums meet me where I am. That's my only job.
Episode v: where did the name “bizzy amor” come from?
I've been asked about my name more than I've been asked about anything else, lol. I thought it would make sense to throw the origin story into the conversation. It started as Jay Prefect in High School, then Serrius Black in college. Then shortened to S.B. before morphing into S. Bizzy, Rapper Bizzy and eventually Bizzy Amor. Lots of growth along the way. Essentially the name represents my core proposition: to be actively engaged in things that I love. Enjoy the episode. (Thank you for spending time with Us)
Episode IV: New Traditions
To be clear, I think traditions are a necessary part of every culture...I just don't think they need to be handcuffs that also keep people from innovating and finding ways that might help to progress Us now and in the future. I don't intend to offend and I offer these thoughts more so as they pertain to the world's of art and business and less so toward arenas like religion and such. Evolving is sometimes uncomfortable but always necessary. What're your thoughts?
Episode III: Staying centered
Life has a way of knocking us all the way down. 2020 as year was especially heavy and often when we found ourselves off center and not thinking correctly, it didn't feel like we'd ever get back to a place of calm and focus. That alone is enough to feel like quitting is the only way but in those moments fighting to find center is the most crucial. Over the years I learned to lean into a specific way of approaching the overwhelming moments and it's helped me achieve things that I thought were impossible. Not always easy but the journey isn't meant to be. I'd love to know what's working for You.
Episode II: Biggest Inspirations
Often we remark on what our "inspirations" are and how necessary inspiration is in order to get our best work done.I actually believe the opposite. Inspirations are a given but they can't be the only gas.
Episode I: Work like kobe
The first episode from "The XXXIV Collection" Docu-series. In this episode Bizzy Amor discusses the origin and purpose behind our increasingly popular war chant "Work Like Kobe".
